The Rock on a Roll

Dwayne Douglas Johnson a renowned Action movie star, but some know him as “The Rock”, a wrester and as he puts it “The most electrifying man in entertainment today”. Dwayne started his career in 1996 as a third generation World Wresting Federation wrestler after his grandfather Peter Maivia and father Rocky Johnson, dawning the combined name of Rocky Maivia.

GI JOE:Retaliation
Fast 5

Venturing into Film and television, Dwayne made 5.5 million dollars for his first staring role in “The Scorpion King”, gaining him the title of highest paid actor for their first starring role.
Dwayne has proved that he is very marketable in the entertainment industry, with his many versatile on screen characters, ranging from a loving family man to a heartless special ops squad leader.
If Dwayne wanted to, he could probably get into sports media as well, with his experience during his youth as a division one football player at the university of Miami then onto the Professional Canadian football league.
Since his first leading role in 2002 with the scorpion king, Dwayne has come out with at least one film a year that he has stared in, but this year he is on fire, with an estimated 5 features coming out in the year 2013 alone.

I would say Johnson is the new aged Arnold Schwarzenegger, Arnold passing on the roles that would have been suited for him in his prime. One example I would say is proof of the torch being passed is in the beginning of the film “The Rundown”; Johnson walks into a club for the opening of the film and as he proceeds, Arnold walks out of the club and tells Johnson “good luck”. After the success of The Scorpion King, proving The Rock can be an “A” list actor, The Rundown was a welcoming of The Rock- the actor and goodbye to Arnold as he went on to become the Govenator of California.
Another similarity of Johnson and Schwarzenegger is their breakout performances; in 1982 what launched Arnolds action career was his loincloth wearing role as Conan the Barbarian, and 20 years later in 2002 what launched Dwayne’s action career was his loincloth wearing role as the Scorpion King. In both Arnolds and Dwayne’s breakout roles you will notice that both characters were not aloud to talk that much, they were there simply to be muscular and kick butt.  The newly Hollywood strongmen needed time for their acting skills to develop, so people wouldn’t judge them on their first major roles that came quicker for them than most.
The Rock is great entertainer that I would say delivers to the box office, but he has had his share of major cinema flops such as; Doom and Planet 51, which were both films that grossed almost half of what the films budgeted.
Johnson continues to show his appreciation to his fans for his success, by now and then returning to his stomping grounds in the WorldWresting Entertainment ring. Actor, Wrestler, Singer, Producer, Philanthropist, and most of all entertainer; Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, he may be 40, but his career is only beginning.    "IF YOU SMELL WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKING!"

Time to get Jurassic

It was June of 1993, I was 9 years old and like most 9-year-old little boys, I had a fascination with Dinosaurs. Studying every reptile from the Carboniferous period to the Cretaceous Period, Dreaming to one day become a paleontologist (not knowing the pay sucked).
So… making sure my parents took me to see the highly anticipated Steven Spielberg flick; a film with revolutionary Computer-generated imagery along with ILM Go-Motion techniques.
Based off a Michael Crichton Novel and secured by Universal Pictures-, which included Producer Kathleen Kennedy, whom is now the CEO of Lucasfilm. The film grossed over $900 million worldwide and won three Academy Awards- including Best Visual Effects.
Oh… did I forget to mention what film I’m raving about, well it’s just something called:

Jurassic park (the first one) one of my all time favorite films, gave me one my first shocks; when the Velociraptor poked its head out from behind the electrical conduit at Dr. Ellie Sattler, played by Laura Dern. I remember the genuine screams in that theater, what a rush that was. If only the 9 year olds of today could experience the joy and thrill of seeing their favorite reptilian carnivores’ brought vividly to life as I did.
But wait they can; 20 years later, Steven Spielberg and Universal Pictures have decided to release the Universal hit one more time in theaters, but this time in 3D. Get ready to dip your hands into some Triceratops dung, the film will be re-released April 5, 2013. Yes its just so they can milk millions off a smash hit one more time, by rendering it in 3D; but who cares!

But that’s not all the news for JP fans, 21 years and two days after the original films release, and 12 years 10 month and 27 days after the last film release of the JP franchise; Universal and Spielberg are at it again, releasing a fourth installment on June 13, 2014.
In Jurassic Park 4 like JP3, Spielberg will not be directing, but producing alongside Kathleen Kennedy whom has helped produce every film since the first. The film will be written by "I AM Legend" writer Mark Protosevich, but JP team is still working on who will be Directing this mission, but all I can say is;
THIS FILM BETTER BE GOOD!
